TURNOUT & HACKING
The yard is in a gated section of 70 acres with a number of small woods and rides. We have three fords which cross two rivers and a brook.
There is a private outer hacking circuit immediately outside of the gated section, which extends around the perimeter of the 200 acres. Above the valley bottom there is a steep training hill leading to a hill circuit, with views over the three turnout fields and St Albans Cathedral in the distance.
In addition there is extensive and impressive hacking available on the bridlepath system that follows the River Colne – directly accessible from the yard.
Turnout is all year round and is in individual double-fenced paddocks located in three fields to allow for rotation. All paddocks have water and the access roads are in tarmac; all gateways have a hardstanding. Lower Turnout has four stallion paddocks and is post and rail with electric extensions.
